How to recognize kidney problems

What can kidneys suffer from?
It is the kidneys that are responsible for the release of many harmful substances from our body, therefore their normal functioning is so important. However, it happens that the kidney tissue is affected. This happens due to complications after infections (viral and bacterial), metabolic disorders, the presence of stones. Tumors can also affect kidney failure, with both malignant and benign, autoimmune diseases. Negative impact on the work of the kidneys has a sedentary lifestyle and the presence of bad habits.

Statistics show that kidney disease affects women more often than men. This is due to the structural features of their urinary organs.

The most common kidney diseases such as pyelonephritis, hydronephrosis, urolithiasis, cysts, renal failure.
Symptoms of kidney problems
You may suspect that you have a problem with your kidneys, by the presence of such symptoms:
Edema, especially in the morning. They indicate that the fluid from the body is excreted in insufficient quantities. Especially it is worth paying attention to the swelling, if the tissues in their area become white, become loose.
Pain in the lumbar region. It can be cutting or dull, aching, localized on one or both sides. If the pain is associated with the movement of stones, it becomes acute, very intense. Unpleasant sensations can give in the thigh, groin, abdomen.
General intoxication of the body, which is expressed by fever, poor health, headaches.
The presence of blood and / or pus in the urine. If the urine becomes turbid, intensely colored, there are impurities of blood in it, pus, sediment is observed, an urgent need to consult a nephrologist or urologist. This symptom may indicate chronic pyelonephritis, a kidney tumor, its trauma, and other dangerous pathologies.
Frequent urination. If the urine is excreted in a small stream, drops, the person cannot completely empty his bladder, he has frequent urge to urinate, then the problem is most often in the kidneys. This symptom is especially alarming in combination with cutting pains in the lower abdomen. Also an alarming sign – a strong reduction in daily urine output.
Constant feeling of thirst, dry mouth. This symptom occurs due to impaired fluid excretion and also indicates kidney problems.
Increased blood pressure. Kidney disease often provoke impaired blood circulation, the result – an increase in pressure. At the same time diastolic (“lower”) pressure most often increases.
Nervous disorders. Inflammation of the kidney tissue can lead to severe intoxication, which provokes overexcitement, loss of consciousness, drowsiness, lethargy, inadequate reactions.
In the presence of such symptoms, it is necessary to consult a doctor. The most significant diagnostic procedures for the detection of kidney diseases are urine and blood tests, ultrasound of the urinary organs. Other additional studies may be needed. Treatment can be both medication and surgery, depending on the identified disease and the degree of its development.

Do not underestimate the importance of the kidneys for the normal functioning of the human body. In the presence of the first alarming symptoms, you should consult a doctor.
